Roster Freight Cars

The freight cars for the Mockingbird Industrial are pretty typical fare for any post-2000 modern railroad.  The makeup should be pretty normal, with the exception that corn syrup cars are very prevalent on the line.

A couple of metrics
-Maximum Long Train Length = 1100 scale feet, or about twenty 53ft Bethgons
-Maximum Long Train Length = 20 cars
-Average Long Train Length = 16 cars
-Maximum Layout Capacity = 37 cars
-Typical Layout Capacity = 27 cars, plus trains

So, on average about 50 cars would be on the layout, not counting any TRE or BNSF trains.  With a 1.5 multiplier to account for variety and a couple of load/empties scenarios, the layout requirement for only the DGNO is about 75 cars.

Regarding BNSF trains, three of them (coal, intermodal, and circus) are fixed at about 20 cars, the manifest at 16 cars, and the MOW train at about 12 cars.  No variety multiplier, as BNSF will rely on the DGNO fleet being rotated through for variety.

So unless another freight train is added, total freight cars (including RBBX passenger but not TRE or Amtrak) will be at a theoretical maximum of about 163 cars. The reality is that the desire for variety will likely drive that number higher, but at least that is a basis.
